The Florence Volunteer Fire Department has been proudly serving our community since 1964. They provide fire protection and emergency medical care to the City of Florence and the surrounding, unincorporated areas of Rankin County. The Department has two fire stations which house three engines, two rescue vehicles, a tanker, and a brush truck. The Department, led by Fire Chief Richard Wilson, has over twenty-five members, many of whom have advanced firefighting training, hazardous materials expertise, vehicle extrication training, and rescue certifications. All of our firefighters are certified Emergency Medical First Responders, and several are EMT's and paramedics.
The City of Florence supports the Florence Volunteer Fire Department through monetary donations.
